Sound Experiments: Anna Bingham and Paul Freeman

‘A line drawn by the bow which is turned into a sound’

The sound vessels experiment began as an interview for a radio programme on Resonance FM with Paul Freeman. He was conducting a series of interviews with artists about process and practice.

As part of the interview in Anna’s workshop Paul recorded incidental atmospheric sounds and the conversation led on to them discussing the objects collected around the studio - this included examples of previous work, stones, shells, found objects and a small collection of bells which she has bought or been given over the years.

Earlier in the year she began making a group of works with the idea of exploring the vessel as a holding space for sound, her interest in resonant objects was a backdrop to this.
